Lincolnshire firefighters prepare for 380-mile charity ride between county’s fire stations – Motorcycle News

Five former and currently serving firefighters from across Lincolnshire are preparing to ride 380 miles in a day, visiting every fire station in the county to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity and Prostate Cancer UK.
The winding route will be tackled by three crew members from Alford Community Fire Station, plus one from Skegness and another from Mablethorpe – with a further three riders also joining in support.
Setting off from Alford at 8am on Saturday, 11 September, the event was devised by station crew manager, Steve Teesdale, who recently got back into biking.
“Steve spotted the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride and that started the cogs whirring to see what we could do here to raise money,” Alford fire fighter Adam Coffey told MCN. “It seems to be getting shared around well on Facebook and we’ve had lots of messages asking to join us.”

“Everyone’s excited and looking forward to it,” the 37-year-old continued. “We’ve got a bit of a plan and know where we’re going, so we’ll just take it as it comes.”
The riders have now set up a Just Giving page for the trip, with a potential target of £1000 for each of the charities. They will also be collecting donations en route, which will be split evenly between the two organisations.
“I think the mileage is going to be the biggest factor,” Coffey added. “It’s all back roads and small roads in Lincolnshire, so I think it’s going to be a long day!”
