Following the launch of its Giving Back campaign earlier this year, a laboratory testing specialist has announced its first round of donations to four UK charities that support some of the country’s most vulnerable children and families.
In the first three months of the campaign, AlphaBiolabs the DNA, drug, alcohol, and Covid-19 testing company has raised over £9,000 for its chosen charities.
The charities that will each receive an equal share of the donations are:
Rachel Davenport, director at AlphaBiolabs, in Warrington, Cheshire said: “We carry out a wide range of drug and alcohol testing for local authorities and organisations involved in family law and child welfare, and our work, therefore, brings us into contact with some of the country’s most vulnerable children and families.
“We were concerned to learn how some charities working with these communities were struggling, especially with the increased demand for their services during the pandemic.
“We hope that our quarterly donations will help NYAS, Nacoa, SFAD, and TGP Cymru continue to provide their vital services to those people who depend on them.”
Paula Hanford, head of income generation at NYAS said: “We are incredibly grateful to AlphaBiolabs for choosing NYAS as one of their charity partners. The recent generous donation will help us to transform the future life chances for care leavers by providing them with much-needed support to enable them to achieve their goals.”
Head of communications at Nacoa, Piers Henriques said: “AlphaBiolabs are championing the needs of the most vulnerable children across the UK when it has never been more important to do so. This donation to Nacoa shows that AlphaBiolabs is taking the lead, showing care and compassion in business and beyond.”
Throughout 2021, AlphaBiolabs will continue to donate £5 to charity for every legal instruction received from family law firms and local authorities.
